I need to buy some skirts for the summer. I have like, one or two, but most of my skirts are better suited for the fall (in colors, weight of fabric, cut, etc)

Anyone feel like going shopping with me? Anyone have good suggestions of places to get good summer skirts? Both of the "I'm a hippy" and the "I'm not a hippy" variety.

For good skirts in the hippy and not hippy variety, 'Garment District' is a good bet. There is also this awesome Tibetian shop on Mass Ave. I never remember their name, but they are right across from
'Cambride Naturals', the heath food store. I've gotten some really wonderful print hippy long skirts. They also tend to have pretty wrap around style skirts that are more then comfy. Planet Aid in Harvard used to have great stuff. They can still be okay, but it's much more hit and miss then it used to be. Target tends to have decent stuff as well.

I second the Target idea - I recently got a three-tiered poly-silk skirt there, for like, $15. Adn there were plenty of other styles.

Ooh! Ooh ooh ooh! Me!

I've been thinking I need to get some nice breezy skirts if last weekend was any indication of how the summer will be. I like the Garment District suggestion, but need to point out that they have no a/c, so going on a hot day is a bad idea.

But yeah...long gauzy skirts seem kind of necessary right now.

oh man - I too would like to go along for this. I only have two summer skirts left that I wear consistently and like and I definitely need at least a couple more. The one I wore to your party was too hot, but I guess it could count as #3.
Unfortunately, my schedule is usually very packed but lemme know when you're going and I'll try to go along.
