Today is my father's birthday. He's gotten some amusing presents over the years. And neither he or nor I have much (any) tolerance for "practical jokes" - fortunately the people we associate with tend not to do such things anyway.

It's basically a holiday about having fun at the expense of others, which is not my thing. At all. As someone else commented, I hate being teased.

Right with you, and pretty much everyone else.

While I don't particularly mind a good joke ('practical' or otherwise), a day of so many people trying and failing so badly just bothers me. And it is so superfluous.

I'm also not happy about how some news media take to publishing fake stories. Or places like slashdot, where there are true and fake stories intermixed.
