I have a job! [Feb. 12th, 2009|11:15 pm]
Nchanter
[emotional state |accomplishedaccomplished]

I am now working, 3 days a week, as the "Front Desk Goddess" (This is what my boss has been introducing me as, hand to God) at Village Family Chiropractic in Brookline. We're a few blocks from Coolidge Corner, which makes for some fabulous walking for lunch options. My boss is a good friend of eldrad's, which is how I got this gig, and so far it's been fabulous.

For those of you who weren't around then, this is the second time I've worked as an office manager for a Chiropractor. The best bennefit of this job is the free chiropractic care. My back, shoulder, and hips are very very happy. I've only worked a few days so far, but I'm quite optomistic in my continued enjoyment at this job.

I'll need some sort of spiny icon now...

Well, I'd been meaning to find a new Chiro anyways 'cause my back had been getting so f-ed up again. This saved me that hassle! Two birds - one stone :)

So are you now the front-end mouthpiece for the Spine Mafia? Congrats on the new job-- I know you were getting sick of the last one...

No, I do NOT work for the Spine Mafia. I'm not sure there is a Spine Mafia, but where I am the only employee? Totally not a Mafia. Our sales tactics and practices are much less sketchy than the Egg Mafia.

Congratulations! You'll make a good goddess.

I just hope people don't start injuring themselves just to see you more. <grin>

We do and encourage wellness care! People should not injure themselves -- we'll take their money anyways :)

How very mercenary of you.

Just make sure the patients know this in advance!

Well, only for my job. The rest of the time, when I'm not trekking to NY to visit my lovely boyfriend and his family, I'm still in Camberville. But yes, I was trying to think of who I knew still that lived in Brookline (I use to have lots of friends that lived in/near Brookline) and you and Nomi were the only ones I could come up with.

Given the frustrations you've had in your old job, and the fact that this one is more people-facing/interacting/helping, I'm curious as to how much satisfaction you take from it medium/long-term. My guess is that it'll be better than the old one, but I'm curious how much better.

Yay for job!!! I'm glad to hear it.

Maybe when I'm back in Boston, I'll have someone take care of my aching back... Andy helps a lot but I think it needs professional help (again).
