I'm sorry kris! I hope one of these days you'll find out what makes you so restless... in the meantime try and at least recognize your restlessness, and try to stymie it somewhat (because it ALWAYS gets you into trouble...) IM me if you want, I'm on.

and while you're at it why don't you adhere to more hippy concepts instead of actually dealing with your issues. Or maybe... just maybe... instead of just recognizing and thwarting it (who the fuck uses stymie anymore... thwart... douse... dull... anything but not stymie)why not actually try to find a way to use it to your advantage... maybe actually dealing with these issues instead of seeing them and then hiding might be good for you. Just maybe.

Hey chuckles... did you not read my message at all where I was saying that "stopgap" (where the fuck did you learn to talk like that? No one talks like that? what's wrong with you) method's are NOT the best course of action. You may as well deny you're own personal nature while your at it. Lets not stop(gap) at emtoinal weaknesses... why not take everything about ourselves that's veiwed as "flawed" and use stopgap methods while we're at is. Twit. My whole point is that stopgap methods inhibit who we are. It's better to enhance and control your flaws then to stop(gap) them. You use these theorhetically impressive words from a obscure vocabulary yet when someone conveys a simple concept in contradiction to your own you don't get it. Good job. Remember next time you want to use big words in a discussion, it's quality over quantity.

a stopgap is when someone uses a cheapo substitute to replace a problem until a real solution can be found and applied

stop·gap (stpgp)
n.
An improvised substitute for something lacking; a temporary expedient.

Italics mine.

really? The italics are yours? i take it by yours you mean your own personal definition. Thats funny cause I just checked Dictionary.com and here's the cut and paste.

stop·gap Pronunciation Key (stpgp)
n.
An improvised substitute for something lacking; a temporary expedient.

now if you meant that that's whatr you meant by using it then your still illogical ... in psychology that's whats referred to as a phantom repression. This happens when you can't deal with your immediate situation so your mind makes a quick and intended to be temporary solution to something it doesn't know what it should do with. This is and always has been considered mentally weak and is debatably damaging to ones psyche.

Since I am clearly dealing with someone who is a) irrationally out to get me and b) doesn't understand the english language, I'm not going to bother rebutting any further after this post.

For the record:

1) To clarify my use of the word 'stopgap,' using your words: stopgap refers to a temporary measure to be used "...until a real solution can be found and applied." -- I am by no means suggesting that anyone squelch their "own personal nature," but merely suggesting temporary, incremental steps along the way towards "[controlling] your flaws." Not everyone is able to deal with their problems in a direct and expedient fashion; I know this from long experience.

2) You have no basis for giving me shit about the way I talk. Every word I use, I use deliberately and correctly in order to make my point clear and precise. Furthermore, I am by no means unique in this habit-- something you'll realize once you graduate past "Catcher in the Rye."

3) If you're going to whine about "quality over quantity," don't make so many usage errors in your posts.

well seeing as I had already posted the definition of the word stopgap and also seeing as you obviously have never actually studied psychology and also seeing as there seems to be no actual basis for the majority of you half brained statements... I don't think I care about your opinion and actually you didn't properly use either of your words. Stymie is a golf term invented to define what happens when your opponents ball is obscuring the path your ball needs to get to the hole and stopgap is a political term that is used when they make a temporary bill to deal with a situation until a more effective and permenant solution can be found and applied. I'd love it if you actually decided to sit down and point out to me which words I misused. And please don't waste my time with typo's if thats your plan.

hello..

Hello, I saw your post on abstractthought and decided to see what exactly happened, still haven't found that entry, but I'll keep reading, if it's there...

Just thought I'd say these "two friends" who responded to your post seem to be more interested in arguing with one another more than helping you.

I hope you're doing well.

Re: hello..

hey, what LJ entry describes what happened, hehe, i read like 30 entries, and still can't figure it out...all I got so far is that a bunch of your friends are addicted to one substance or another, and the other bunch are into computers or something to do with movies and TNG episodes...?

I gotta say something, at the risk of it sounding offending, that your life is so far removed from mine it's kind of amusing to watch from a distance.

I mean that in the nicest way, btw, I don't mean it rudely.

Re: hello..

you said he erased all entries, so I didn't go to his LJ beyond the first few entries.

:)

Dealing with "stuff" effectively is a skill, don't worry if you don't have it, but worry if you don't WANT to have it.

I hope it all works out, hang in there. And on the other hand, the movie Donnie Darko is really neat. :) I know it doesn't relate to this at all, but I thought I'd mention it as I just saw it...the music in the credits is beautifull

bye for now...
