So Monster has a vet appointment in half an hour. I'm... nervious. Darxus couldn't get a hold of his previous vet records. Monster hasn't been to the vet since he lived in Philly (3+ years ago). There isn't anything wrong with Monster (except, you know, maybe a cat shouldn't weigh 20 lbs, but he doesn't seem fat to me...) I've brought Monster's carrier upstairs (after a cleaning) and he's currently hanging out in there. It is tempting to just shut him in there now, so I don't have to try and wrangle him in 15 minutes, but, well, then he'd be locked in there more than he needs to be. I don't actually expect issues of getting him in there, but then getting him down the two flights of stairs, and into the car... and then at the vet, I just don't know. Monster is not a violent cat, but I have no expectations that I'll come out of this without any scars.

Apparently there was nothing to be concerned about

My cat is an ANGEL. I didn't even remember that this cat owned claws.

It took him 3 minutes to get out of the carrier at the vet. The car ride was the most traumatic part of the ordeal, or at least the part where he whined the most. I had more problems with the rabies shot than he did. (The vet didn't make me look, thank god)

He's in relatively good health. I was worried about the weight, but since I'm switching him to a diet that's more wet-food based (after I move, I can't deal with doing that NOW) that won't be an issue. (Apparently, cats actually tend to loose weight when you switch them to wet food 'cause there are less fillers, sugars, and perservatives than in dry food. Also, I'll be switching his brand of dry food again, but not until I move.) The only issue was some dental stuff, which is getting taken care of next Tuesday. Then I get to start brushing his teeth!

Monster was so well behaved that the vet said that if I decided I couldn't handle him that he would take him. Personally.

Man, I am so relieved!
