If its an ugly green, the fabric will NOT match the house... it should be draped soley in black and red... colors of DARKNESS and BLOOD! yes!!!
no, i was more thinking for making pillows to match the compliment that will soon be delivered to pink stucco. however, i do not plan on drapeing any apartment i have to spend time in, let alone live in, in sea greeen (yes, it's that kinda green, ok for the outside of a house (esp when the inside is that beautiful) not ok for decorating. unless you are the easter bunny. but if you are the easter bunny i want chocolate ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!)
you guys will so need a Green Stucco website!
can I come see it too? :D
i don't know if that's fair, as james is buissy sunday and wouldn't beable to come as well! ;-)
I don't care, if you get it, I'll see it soon enough, if not, then I don't care. You made the date to due it on Sunday just because I had plans, makes sense to me.
oh, and greenstucco.net seems not to be regestered....
this is too, too funny
I was going to suggest a www.greenstucco.net website also. If James is too busy to help you set up a server, I'll see what I can do. We'll be sure to include a link to you on pinkstucco.net as a sister apartment or something.
I can definitely do what is needed, although I can't host it or do anything with it while away this summer.
I volunteer to create and host an "Stucco webring" of both sites plus member's home pages :)

Hah, yeah, there are plenty of techies, I am not needed (although my offer stands.)
well I don't have PHYSICAL hosting capabilities... everything that I am capable of doing is stuff that already exists on the Net. I'm a programmer by trade :)

By trade, me, too, although I did IT for 5 or so years, and have pretty good experience otherwise with it as well. Feel free to ask for tech help, it's good for me to keep in practice.
On a side note, not a conversation for LJ, but one of my brother's bands wants web hosting, and I was wondering what your experience (and the rates) had been with differet hosting companies--they won't need anything fancy like cgi, so that's not a factor.
Thanks, and see you soon, hopefully.
well, I've only had two good experiences with web hosting. one is freeservers.com, and the other is the one which Andrea's Attic is hosting under.
do NOT use drak.net. ever.
I can try to fill with tech help while James is away, since I have had the experience of running the Pink Stucco web and mail servers for awhile. I don't think I can help with a physical machine to be the host, though since my computer is already hosting pinkstucco.net and I don't know how to get apache to look at which which domain name the person is visiting and send a different index file as a result. If anyone knows how to do this, let me know.
Funny how we're all volunteering to do stuff for Kris' server and she hasn't really said what she wanted :-)

Very amusing, yes, although this one is more for you.
What, exactly are you trying to do? Just change where Apache looks for an index file? Or, rather, what is changing that you want to have apache switch for?
Well, I've heard that a pretty standard thing to do is to have the http server take note of what domain name a person is connecting to the server through (such as if I ran both pinkstucco and greenstucco on my computer for example), and then based on which domain it was, return a different index file. The idea is if someone connected to www.pinkstucco.net they would get one web page and if they connected to www.greenstucco.net they would get a different web page, even though the domain names would be hosted on the same computer. I'm willing to bet apache can be configured for this - I just don't know what file to go into to do it. I'll have to locate a manual or something.
bah! manuals are for the WEAK!!!
"Man": the single most-often *nix command.
That is too silly NOT to go for.
and if its as hideous a color of green, they might even be flashing colors.

Re: Green Stucco
i like how all of this is being discussed, but i think we should, oh, you know, GET the apartment first.
