Brandon aka Gumby aka The-Guy-I'm-Involved-With-in-Arkansas is coming up to visit in July, and we were thinking of taking off somewhere local-ish for a few days as part of that visit, to just "get away." Berkshires, The Vinyard, Maine, you know, something like that. Anyways, I've not done that sort of vacationing before. I'll be honest, we'll probably be spending a lot of time in our room, so there doesn't have to be a lot to do, though I'd like some nummy food options, and it should be somewhere pretty. I don't hike or anything like that, but being able to wonder into nature a little bit, be it beach or forest or a lake or something would be nice. Anyone have suggestions? B&B or Hotel? Thoughts? Specific places you LOVE?

We'd be looking probably doing Wed, Thur, Friday nights, middle/end of July. Back to the city Sat 'cause he'll be going home Sunday. He'll be in the city with me for a few days before then.

I look forward to your suggestions!

No question, B&B over a hotel. B&Bs are cozy - hotels are not.

I'm sure there are exceptions in both categories, but I'd definitely go with a B&B.
